OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to
- Demonstrate the application of Havening Touch techniques to promote neuroplasticity for stress reduction and trauma healing.
- Describe the use of the CPR for the Amygdala tool to cultivate internal agency and regulate emotional responses in a clinical setting.

PRESENTER

Kate Truitt, PhD (CA license 26309) is a licensed clinical psychologist, applied neuroscientist, and holds a M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration. She is an internationally recognized expert in the neuroscience of trauma, stress, and resilience as well as the complex interplay amongst the three. She is regularly featured in global media outlets ranging from Oprah Today and Medium to the BBC and Today. Dr. Truitt is an international trainer and has spoken at the United Nations, the United States Department of Defense, PESI, amongst others. She has dedicated her life to advancing the treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders, eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health, and empowering wellness through the dissemination of psychoeducation and self-healing tools through her speaking engagements, books, blog, and social media presence.
Dr. Truitt resides in Los Angeles, CA where she leads her flagship group practice and clinic, Dr. Kate Truitt & Associates, serves as CEO for both the Amy Research Foundation, a non-profit focused on advancing the role of brain science in psychotherapy and eradicating the translational lag between science and clinical practice, and the Trauma Counseling Center of Los Angeles. In 2013 she founded the Truitt Institute, historically known as Viva Excellence, to provide cutting-edge training, courses, and workshops that bring together the newest advancements in the fields of neuroscience and mental health. Dr. Truitt is recognized as one of the developers of the Havening Techniques and serves as their Chief Strategy Officer. outcomes, and psychophysiology. Her clinical practices and scientific studies have led Dr. Truitt to specialize in the treatment of traumatic stress and PTSD. Dr. Truitt’s NeuroTriad Model consists of three core pillars: trauma-informed, neuroscience-based, and resilience-focused care. These components, when taken together, empower individuals to become proactive participants in their transformational journey as they heal the past, create the present, and build the future. She is the author of Healing in Your Hands: Self-Havening Exercises to Harness Neuroplasticity, Heal Traumatic Stress, and Build Resilience and Keep Breathing (Winter, 2023).
